Packaging Design Sells! Think About It.
Products are sold everywhere. From supermarkets to online stores and the market is flooded with stuff. So how can you stand out from the crowd? Well, with amazing product packaging design. Of course your product has to be good too, if not you will not make repeat sales, but if you have the combination of good packaging design and an awesome product then you will rock the market. Of course there are a few other important things like marketing and brand awareness, but I want to talk about design first.
Now why am I talking about this? Packaging is often overlooked and as an artist you might think that it has nothing to do with you, but without the artist the packing would be a brown box or paper bag with no design, message or look.
No matter if you are a fine artist, illustrator or crafts person, your creativity helps to make those packaging look amazing.
Often a lot of work goes into developing a product and at the end the packaging becomes less important. But really, it is as important as the product itself.
A well design packaging is a self-contained and self-sufficient marketing machine.
It is the advertisement on the shelf, in the window, on the website. You want to stand out from the competitor and convince the consumer your product is the better one. But it’s a tough market.
As a designer and artist you can help and work closely with the company or entrepreneur and together you can create a packaging that differentiates itself from the competitors. You want to make the product packaging so well that is is telling a compelling brand story and of course making tons of sales!
As a designer and illustrator my first love is Adobe Illustrator, but my second love is packaging. I like to design them, create illustrations for them and I love to look at amazing packaging as well.
Here is a list of some totally cool and amazing packaging design where the illustrations are prominent. I hope you will enjoy my picks.
